We are looking to recruit an experienced Saw Operative for our client in the Longton area.  This role would be temporary to permanent after a probationary period.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has worked within a manufacturing environment previously.

Job Description

  • Using a Saw to assist in the manufacture of metal products

  • Read an understand drawings and technical information.
  • Effectively monitor the machine during the process.

Required experience

You will be joining an established and friendly shift assisting in the production of articulated trailers, so previous experienced will be required.  Reliability and the ability to be punctual is essential.

Skills and Experience

Suitable candidates should demonstrate the following:

  • Fully experienced in MIG welding steels up to 12mm thickness
  • The ability to weld other materials such as stainless steels, alloys etc. advantageous
  • Fully competent in the use of hand and air tools
  • Ability to read and work from detailed fabrication drawings
  • Capable of working to demanding deadlines

Hours of work are 6pm to 6am Monday to Thursday (46 Hours)

Key Responsibilities

  • Process invoicing using an Excel-based system, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
  • Handle incoming phone calls, providing support to customers, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Assist with the dispatch of parts to trailers, ensuring correct allocation and documentation
  • Support the day-to-day operations of a busy parts department with general administrative duties
  • Maintain accurate records of parts, orders, and transactions
  • Work closely with the production and dispatch teams to ensure parts availability and timely delivery
  • Carry out ad hoc administrative tasks as required to support departmental efficiency

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an administrative or parts-based role (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Mechanical understanding or interest in engineering/trailer components is desirable
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

We are currently recruiting for  experienced Fettlers for our client in the local area.

Candidates will have extensive experience, as you will be working at speed and to tight deadlines.  Duties will include Fettling ceramic tableware and other related items.

Hours of work:  06.00am to 14.00pm (days)  14.00pm to 22.00pm (noons) rotating.

A night shift maybe introduced into the above shift pattern.

An experienced hand dipper is urgently required to work for our client in the local area.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Pick up ware from the conveyor or lift and immerse into the glaze
  • Shake excess glaze from the piece of ware
  • Lower the ware into the dryer.  Ware is then taken to the footwiper
  • Ensure working area is clean at the end of each shift
  • Establish effective working relationships with co-workers
  • Follow Health & Safety guidelines

  • Check all drawings against existing references
  • Working as part of a team whilst observing all aspects of Health & Safety
